The Shubael Little Pioneer Village’s annual Open House will be October 15 and 16 from 10:00am till dark. The village will dedicate a Carpenter Shop on Saturday at 2:00pm.
Other activities during the Open House will be demonstrations of pioneer cooking in the fireplaces and in the outdoor beehive oven, old-time spinning, weaving, candle-making and quilting along with live entertainment from The Bob Gibson Bluegrass – Country Band. On Sunday the village will also have a blacksmith forging iron.
The Shubael Little Pioneer Village will hold their first old-time church service on Sunday, October 16 at 11:00am central time. The Missionary Baptist Church of Patesville, KY will hold the service at the village during the village’s Open House. The service will feature old-time hymns sung a cappella and with string instrument accompaniment. The service will be led by Brother Steve Jackson.
Chicken dinners will be available on Saturday for purchase starting at 11:00am.
